the importance of politics

i struggle to understand people who say “oh, it’s just politics” or oh “i dont really have a stance” or maybe the worst of them all “they’re all bad”

politics is literally the bed rock of everything we do. you wake up, the phone you snooze has regulations around the frequencies it can emit. the ac cooling your room has efficency standards. the water you drink has epa standards to meet. the toothpaste has chemical standards. the car you drive to work on the roads the government pays for has highway safety standards it has to pass. the job you work has labor laws they must follow. the food you eat for lunch has sourcing and ethical requirements it must meet. the server that serves you has a wage that must be paid. how could the thing not matter?
