my grandmother died 1 year ago today. i still remember the feeling, the text from alina at 9:53 pm on june 23rd 2024. i remember walking into my dads room and just hugging him.

today my dad brought home some crumbl cookies, my grandma loved sweets. he also sent my aunt money to pakistan to feed the kids in the gully because my grandmother loved to do those things. i pitched in and helped my dad pay for it.

im so glad i still have my father and my mother in my life. when i was much younger, my mom ran a red light and got t-boned. i think about it now and realize how devastating it could have been for our family and how lucky we are to still be here together.

for all the things i may have missed out in life, two things i will always be grateful to the universe for is the time with my family and my health.
